At Rockvale, Uptown Cheapskate will take an 8,000-square-foot space along Route 896 at the eastern edge of the shopping center. The spot is the former home of Orvis. Uptown Cheapskate focuses on buying and selling trendy clothing and accessories for teens and young adults. Uptown Cheapskate offers cash or store credit for sellers. The first Uptown Cheapskate store opened in Salt Lake City in 2009 and today there are some 160 franchise locations across the country. The Rockvale store will be the first in Lancaster County. The franchisees for the Rockvale location are Ozzie and Stephanie Torres, who also own Contigo Real Estate, a real estate firm with offices in Manheim Township. The Torreses say they expect to begin buying gently used clothing, shoes and accessories for their Uptown Cheapskate in May, once construction wraps up on the store. They will open the store once they’ve accumulated enough merchandise, which they estimated would be by late summer. Uptown Cheapskate Address: 35 S.
