Receiver- QVC Outlet

Reporting to the Assistant Manager/Operations, the Receivers are responsible for receiving product from QVC’s distribution sites. They ensure that the merchandise inventory is quality inspected, prepared for the sales floor and then delivered to the sales floor. The Hardgood/Apparel Receiver will prepare product for distribution to outside sales, liquidators and other outlet store locations. Additionally, as needed, the Hardgood/Apparel Receiver will also perform in capacities similar to sales associates; assisting customers with sales, providing product information, merchandising and creating product displays. The Hardgood/Apparel Receiver will work a varied schedule which may include evenings and weekends as dictated by business needs.

  • Verifies RD Label on item with the ASN report.
  • Audits and verifies all merchandise received to ASN report and confirms the correct number received.
  • Prepares products for floor presentation in accordance with merchandising standards.
  • Attaches you pay tickets to merchandise in accordance with merchandising standards and prints additional tickets as needed.
  • Independently performs quality control; determines if product is in a condition to be sold; determines appropriate disposition for damaged product.
  • Logs a physical listing and properly identifies all outgoing and incoming merchandise.
  • Signs and date all documents to acknowledge receipt.
  • Notifies Backroom Coordinator of any deviation or potential problem regarding shipment.
  • Utilizes the computer system to print Ship Orders, ASN (Advance Shipping Notice) reports, and ‘you pay’ tickets to be placed on product.
  • Signs and dates ASN’s when completed and enters the data into the computer system. Accurate and timely Electronic receiving of processed product in accordance with QVC Outlet Division receiving and processing guidelines in order to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Reports invalid SKU’s, excessive or high dollar damaged products; you pay discrepancies and excessive quantity discrepancies to Backroom Coordinator
  • Builds hardgoods & apparel pallets with damaged product, using disposition guidelines, to be sent to Outside Sales.
  • Organizes receiving area as directed by the Backroom Coordinator.
  • Places excess items into back stock; ensures that stockroom standards are in alignment with the Outlet Division’s operating guidelines.
  • Assists with preparation for yearly inventory.
  • Responsible for accurately listing back stock in hardgoods & apparel onto pre-count sheets.
  • Disposes properly of all corrugated and non-corrugated trash.
  • Compacts and removes trash in accordance with security procedures throughout shift and again at the end of shift.
  • Removes trash and loads into dumpster with management present.  Maintains a clean safe orderly work area.
  • Follows safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Assists Customers with phone orders and putting sold product into the customer’s vehicle. *
  • Assists Customers on sales floor in making product choices, providing product information and demonstrating product use. *
  • Make daily processing decisions based on product needs and sale events.
  • Organizes Back of House overstocks as directed by Backroom Coordinator.
  • Makes daily decisions on display preparation of product for sales floor.
  • Make daily decisions on the quality level of products; determine if it meets QVC Outlet merchandising standards.
  • Make daily decisions on disposition standards for damaged goods; determines if Outside Sale quality or dumpster.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.

IV.       SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE (Special skills, knowledge of machines, procedures, etc.)

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend daily computer functions needed to perform job responsibilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to operate a cash register, copier & fax machines
  • Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

IV.       QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:  High School Diploma or the equivalent.
  • Experience:  1 year of retail experience or in a similar function preferred.

VI.       JOB REQUIREMENTS (As required by the Americans with Disabilities Act)

  • Ability to lift approximately 40-50 lbs on average.
  • Ability to stand for a prolonged period of time.
  • Maintain attendance as defined by company policy.
  • Ability to maintain a processing rate as determined by company standards.
