Sales Associate

Reporting into the Assistant Store Manager/Operations or Merchandising, the sales associate is responsible for assisting the customer with all point of sale transactions while enhancing the customer’s experience at the QVC outlet stores. The sales associate also promotes category sales and assists the management team with store operations. The sales associates have the authority to independently make decisions on customer questions & concerns regarding product returns, sale merchandise, and all other customer service issues.The sales associate may need to work varied hours to include evenings and weekends as dictated by business needs.

  • Greets all customers upon arrival, thanks the customers for visiting the QVC store, and invites return visits.  Offers to place all customers on the mailing list and attempts to save the sale at the time of a return.
  • Introduces the customer to the QVC Outlet Store by explaining the store’s layout, current promotions, markdowns, pricing policy, and return policy.
  • Contributes to sales revenue through various selling techniques. Assist customers in selecting products.  Gathers information from the customer regarding interest and needs for additional sales.  Presents new & additional products to the customer to further enhance the purchase.  Follows sound pricing strategies and uses service as a strong selling aid.
  • Operates a cash register and conducts customers’ financial transactions including sales, returns, exchanges, and processing credit cards & gift cards.
  • Creates product displays as defined by the Merchandising Manual. Presents the merchandise in a fashion which captures the customer’s attention.
  • Replenishes merchandise. Organizes products within an area of the store into a neat, orderly and visually attractive manner to maintain merchandising standards.
  • Maintains a clean store by cleaning jewelry display cases & doors, dusting cabinets, vacuuming floors, emptying trash cans on sales floor, dry mopping, and conducting store recovery at close of business.
  • Contributes ideas for the overall success of the store such as displays, reducing expenses, store appearance, operational process and policies.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management team.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to operate a cash register, copier & fax machines
  • Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:  High school diploma or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience:  Previous customer service, retail, visual merchandising or marketing is a definite plus.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (As required by the Americans with Disabilities Act)

·      Ability to lift boxes, push carts and, clothing racks to replenish the merchandise.

  •  Ability to lift up to a maximum of 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Maintain attendance as defined by company policy.
