In the News – March 17, 2026 In the News New retailers, eateries slated for The Shops at Rockvale Chad Umble | Lancaster Online March 17, 2026 An ice cream shop, furniture store and cooking school will be among the new tenants opening this spring at The Shops at Rockvale. Twisted Sisters Ice Cream and Handmade Chocolates will take a 1,300-square-foot space along Route 30, near Cracker Barrel. The ice cream shop, which has locations in Manheim and Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County, was founded in 2014 by sisters Janelle Carper and Tina Cinamella-Geiger. A New Dawn, which sells vintage and themed furniture and decor, will take a 2,700-square-foot space near the Disney Store. A New Dawn is owned by Dawn Lockhart, who is also an interior designer. Zest Cooking School will open in a 2,500-square-foot space near the Disney Store. The school will host cooking classes for groups of 25 to 30 people. Zest, owned by Sharon Landis, has a spice shop in Lititz and a cooking school at the Brighton Village Shoppes near Bent Creek in Manheim Township. The new tenants were announced in a newsletter for Mi-Place at Rockvale, the 480-unit apartment complex being developed by Fernmoor Homes on parts of Rockvale where retail buildings were demolished. Other new tenants set to open soon at Rockvale include AutoZone, W.O.L.F. Fitness, Uptown Cheapskate,a used clothing store, Ezzy Eats Authentic Mexican restaurant, Miniature Realms & Adventures, a tabletop gaming studio, and Back Nine, an indoor golf facility. With the new arrivals, Rockvale will have 43 tenants and five vacant retail spaces, according to a tenant map of the center.
