The Hottest Breweries in Lancaster PA

Published : March 18, 2019

Lancaster PA certainly has some wonderful beer magicians crafting up some delicious beverages. Here is our list of must-see breweries when visiting Lancaster.

Lancaster Brewing Company

The popular Lancaster Brewing Company is conveniently accessible from The Shops @Rockvale. Our shoppers find the fare to be delightfully affordable and delicious. Rated 4.4 out of 5-stars, the establishment is clean, relax and extremely pleasant. The beer and malt are exceptional. Diners rave about the savory hamburger, amazing pretzel and entrees. There are 12 original ale specialties.

Some of our favorites are Winter Warmer, Lancaster Lager, Milk Stout Nitro and Strawberry Wheat. The establishment uses natural and sustainable products, which are produced in the local farms. The sausages and cheese are homemade. The eggs, dairy, meat, and vegetables are always fresh with no synthetic ingredients.

There are three Lancaster Brewing Company locations near us: 2323 Lincoln Highway, which is four minutes away; 302 N. Plum St, which is 3 minutes away; and 469 Eisenhower Blvd. in Harrisburg, which is 44 minutes away. You can reserve a brewery tour by calling the restaurant at 717-391-6258.

The Friendly Greek Bottle

While not quite technically a brewery, the huge array of beers and tasty food this place deserves a spot on the list. Only 15 minutes away from The Shops @Rockvale. Don’t be fooled by the low-key appearance. It may look like an average deli with a cafe, but wait until you see their beer selection. The Friendly Greek Bottle has been in business since 1980, which attests to the quality of their ale and their staying power. Imagine a brewery with more than 800 varieties that include rare and imported beers. There are 11 rotating taps that are available for a growler fill. You can combine six packs. Customers have given very positive reviews about the fabulous selection and their great tasting craft beer. Don’t forget to try their fabulous Greek salad, gyros and chicken wings. The place has a 4-star rating.

The address is 549 New Holland Avenue in Lancaster. You can call them at 717-393-6660. They are open seven days a week from Monday to Thursday at 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Friday at 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Spring House Brewing Company

The Spring House Brewing Company is 19 minutes away from The Shops @Rockvale. It’s one of our favorite hangouts. The place is ideal for family and friends. Picture yourself relaxing with friends in an old barn that has been renovated into a spacious, fun, trendy, airy and industrial tavern, while you enjoy quality house beer and eat great tasting food. The ales are awesome with natural flavors like citrus, eggnog, mango, vanilla and oats. They do not taste excessively strong or weak.

You can also dine at the Hell’s Attic Arcade, which is on the second floor. It’s surrounded by video games, pinball machines, a pool table and mini bowling alley. Dogs are welcome during the summer on the deck.

The address of Spring House Brewing is 209 Hazel Street, Lancaster. They are open seven days a week from Sunday to Thursday at 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. There is a free weekend brewery tour. Call for a tour reservation at 717-984-2530.

Wacker Brewing Company

Wacker is a legit brewery. With super complex styles and great flavors, this place is popular with the locals and friendly to visitors.

Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant

With some “far out” blends, Iron Hill is an innovator and features fresh and funky beers and pairings.  We love this place and its ecclectic vibe.
